"The Maid in the Mist"~ for the PicFic Tuesday Challenge January 14th

It was the storm from hell, blowing in off the Atlantic with all the ferocity of  a massive and violent N’or Easter.

Two men struggled against the howling winds as driving, near horizontal rain lashed against them. After abandoning their car in the remains of a leaky barn, they sought refuge at a nearby lighthouse; its beacon sending out a warning of the treacherously shallow shoals that could easily ground any passing ships caught unawares.

It was their lucky day, finding the steel door unlocked and unguarded as they took shelter inside the lighthouse. Closing the door behind them with a loud bang; they immediately drew their guns from beneath their drenched coats, preparing themselves for anything.

In his dreams the thunderous sound of the collapsing stairway tore at the Russian’s memories of a homeland stricken by totalitarianism and greed.  The idealism of the Revolution was not lost on the sleeping man, although the sorrow of a dream, once so vast and promising to the masses, reflected the failure to override the inevitable evil of the men who would deign to rule.

Picfic Tuesday January 14, 2014: Russian on Ice

I did not think I would die this way. How ironic. So many times I would laugh at Napoleon when he complained about cold weather. I would tell him that one must learn to embrace the cold: Splash ice water on your face, roll around in the snow, and wear just enough clothing to keep you warm. “And nuh, nuh, nuh, now I, I, am to, to, to fruh, fruh, fruh, freeze to death in an ice, ice, icebox,” he was finally able to spit out as he walked in a tight circle, arms wrapped around himself in a futile effort to keep himself warm.

We're One Month Away from Valentine's Day and the ATC Event on MFU Gallery

In case you missed the announcement, here's a repeat of the initial tutorial.  Artist Trading Cards for Valentine's Day is the event, and everyone is invited to make something to post in mfu_gallery
I hope everyone will give it a try, because ATC's are fun, they're small and easy-peasy, if you know what I mean.
