For those of you who may have missed it; we've moved Writer's Choice to Saturdays as Friday was just too busy for some to be able to participate.

So here we go! Post a LINK to your story here on Section VII. We've had great responses from readers who've been able to read stories they may have missed, or wanted to revisit, but couldn't find.

Writers, when posting your LINK please include a little summary about your story or what you like about it.  Readers, not to be left out....feel free to post a link to your favorite author's fic. Tell us a little bit about it and why you think the story is a good read. Please remember to use the tag Writers Choice.

Looking forward to your posts.

Everyone please feel free to comment or leave Kudos on the rec'd stories if you want. Authors always appreciate feedback, even if it's on an older story!

Delving into the pre-series partnership is always a fun and challenging adventure.  How do we arrive at the relationship we see onscreen during that first season?  This is part of my "Pre-Series" story arc.  I couldn't resist a little angst, a little blood and a lot of thinking.

Illya and Napoleon are lost somewhere in Scotland, and probably a bit hung over. Ridiculousness ensues. This is Illya at his most impish.

If the Gaelic slang is too daunting, just slide over it, and think of poor Napoleon trying to translate it!)

Lost In Translation

LOST IN TRANSLATION

Napoleon Solo steered their rental car around another blind curve, praying that they wouldn't collide with another vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. A cloud of dust rose in the little Trident's wake. Beside him in the passenger seat, Illya scowled at the tall, thorny hedgerows looming on either side of the narrow dirt road.

“Between the dust and the hedgerows, I cannot see a thing,” he grumbled. “I think we may be lost.”

“How can we be lost? We have a map.”

“This is not a map,” Illya snapped, waving the glossy, folded pamphlet. “It is a brochure for a Bed and Breakfast."

This little story was inspired after I watched an archery competition on television, with  bits of"The Virtue Affair" coming to mind. In this fic Napoleon and Illya take a group of green-horn agents for some extra training. Napoleon decides to have a little fun with them and Illya agrees, seeing as how one agent in particular has a very negative attitude torwards him.  Time to teach a lesson, Solo and Kuryakin style.

Hope you enjoy reading or re-reading my story. Comments are most welcome and appreciated if you feel so inclined.

Why I Like It: This story introduces my original character, Leona Nicole, a bi-racial child who captures the hearts of Illya and Napoleon and changes their lives. I didn’t know it at the time, but this story would open the door to many tales featuring this little girl.

Why I Like It: I cried. ChannelD creates an AU in which the child Illya Kuryakin is rescued from a horrible life by UNCLE scientist George Piper. This is the first story in a series that takes Illya from a young boy to manhood to UNCLE to love. Though Napoleon and Illya’s relationship is mentioned in later tales, the thrust and main focus of this series is the relationship between Illya and his father figure George. Please don’t let the mention of slash in much later tales put you off this thought provoking series. We should all be so lucky to have had a George Piper in our lives to call us “Honey.”

All of the stories are beautifully written. I am not much of a crier, but ChannelD made me cry. And I’m so grateful.

For this week's Writer's Choice, I went back to a series I did with Mister Waverly as a young man on his first real adventure, The 'Avignon' Affair. I've always harbored a lot of fondness for Number One of Section One, which I hope came through.
