August has dawned bright and warm. It is perfect for sitting in the garden and writing a short story.

The rules are simple. Choose one of the prompt words, combine it with the colour prompt, then write something with a word count of between 300 -1000 words. You’ll find the prompts, and all the rules beneath the cut.

There is still plenty of time to contribute to today’s posts from last week’s prompts. If you want to join in, you’ll find those prompts right here.

Remember, Section VII is a Gen site, but stories which are Het, Long-term Romance or AU can be posted in the Map Room. You’ll find the link for it down the side there.

Have fun.

Napoleon crouched beside him and placed a comforting hand on his arm. “Did you check?” he asked solemnly, tilting his head towards the field.

Illya nodded.

“None of this was your fault, my friend; you were ambushed.”

Challenge: The Short Affair

-Prompt Colour – Yellow

Author: mrua7

Title: Never piss off our Russian friend

Word Count: Approx. 800

Running through the high grass, it still wasn’t hard for Napoleon to see Illya as the Russian’s yellow hair caught in the sunlight.

“Fine, I will duck lower.”

Kuryakin fell forwards with a muffled yelp.

Napoleon scrambled to his side; his heart in his throat thinking his partner had been shot.” You all right?”
