Sunday August 7 is Friendship Day, an event that began in the United States but has spread out to an international scope of sharing and caring.  In honor of that, and with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] laurose8 for bringing it to my attention, Section VII will host a special challenge that focuses on the friendship of our MFU characters.  Of course we have Solo and Kuryakin, friends and partners, but feel free to include the entire gang of agents, specifically April and Mark.
This should be a minimum of 500 words, gen in nature and friendly in content.  We'll post on Sunday, which gives you the rest of the week and shouldn't compete with any other challenges.
We spend time with these people in our imaginations, reading and writing about them, and even watching them still on dvd or the more recent nostalgia cable stations.  I think we can do them proud as we explore and extol the friendship we all love.

The third QuoteME 2016 challenge is in the books! Many thanks to those who participated!

The last challenge in this series for this year is set to take place in the fullness of autumn and the quote I think a particularly apropos sentiment for that season of the year (as well as for the job our guys do).

So without further ado, here is the prompt and posting schedule for the QuoteME 4: 2016 challenge.

THE QUOTE: Look back, and smile on perils past.
MADE BY: Walter Scott

CHALLENGE: Write an MFU fanfic story regarding the idea embodied in the above quote. The quote doesn't have to verbally appear within the context of the story; the idea it embodies just needs to be captured in that story. The quote, however, should be placed separately at the top of the story.

STATISTICAL STUFF: Minimum of 500 words (drabbles are not incorporated in this particular challenge) with no set maximum. Must fit into the overall concepts of this community, i.e., contain no explicit adult material and reflect the 1960s series in style and content.

POSTING: To this forum starting on Saturday, October 8th, and ending on Saturday, October 15th.

The Prompt:

Young Illya Kuryakin stood, watching the line of ballerinas as they went through their stretches and exercises in Madame Stolanskaya’s ballet class.

The men were on the other side of the room, all five of them including Illya; there were always more females than males.

“Kuryakin!” Madame barked, slamming the end of her stick on the floor to get his attention.” What are you staring at you bolvan! Now get to work! releve, plie, releve, plie.” Each command was accented by the loud tap of her stick.
