It was like waking up from a dream. “Silver and gold,” he heard again before noticing the treasures he was running his fingers through. Looking around he saw treasures of all types covering the floor of the cave he found himself in.

vmccooley that had a promise of more comments as we explore what each of us perceives as the depth of the relationship between Solo and Kuryakin.
For the sake of a free exchange, I think we must make this forum truly open; that is to say, whatever your viewpoint on this it is welcome as part of the conversation. I realize the fans of MFU range from those who hold to the series' presentation of the men as purely professional tinged with a solid friendship, while others have taken it to a romantic relationship. This is the day to tell us how you got there and why it holds your imagination and attention as a writer and/or reader.
So, what do you think? Just what are the depths of devotion between Napoleon and Illya?

Napoleon knocked on the door to the apartment. There was no answer. “Illya,” he called, keeping his tone casual so as not to alarm the neighbors. He heard a muffled noise, which he took for an invitation. The lock responded to his key, and mindful of other possible security measures, he peeked around the door.

Napoleon had avoided the entanglements of friendship as best he could over the years. He had acquaintances of course, but few who would really fall into the category of real friends.

In honor of that, and with thanks to laurose8 for bringing it to my attention, Section VII will host a special challenge that focuses on the friendship of our MFU characters. Of course we have Solo and Kuryakin, friends and partners, but feel free to include the entire gang of agents, specifically April and Mark.
This should be a minimum of 500 words, gen in nature and friendly in content. We'll post on Sunday, which gives you the rest of the week and shouldn't compete with any other challenges.
We spend time with these people in our imaginations, reading and writing about them, and even watching them still on dvd or the more recent nostalgia cable stations. I think we can do them proud as we explore and extol the friendship we all love.
