“Mr. Solo, please be seated,” Alexander Waverly beckoned with his hand. His demeanor was grim, and that didn’t bode well to Napoleon.

He slipped into his usual chair at the conference table; his Russian partner was conspicuously absent and had been for weeks. Illya was off on an assignment of his own, the details to which the American had not been briefed.

It was rare that a communications blackout occurred with agents reporting strictly to the Old Man, but this was one such occasion.

“As you are aware, Mr. Kuryakin has been on assignment. I’m sorry to say we have lost communications with him and there has been nothing in the last week.”

Keep Repeating - PicFic 8/16

It seemed that whenever someone had to strip down to his boxers or nothing at all, the name on the invitation was Illya Kuryakin.  How many times had the job cost him a certain degree of dignity?  And how was it that once again, it would be the Russian on display among a group of muscled, hard bodied young men as he attempted to get past the event and into the meat of his mission beyond?

“We are all at the mercy of technology,” the blond g-man with the funny accent remarked to his compatriot.

Lenny didn't think this was a suitable time for philosophy. He had been snatched off the street by these terrifying spooks and held in this windowless, concrete room for hours, accused of being a spy, an enemy agent and even a thrush, whatever the hell that was supposed to mean. He hadn't done anything wrong! Except for all the robberies, that was, but apart from them he was as innocent as the day was long.
