The stories from these prompts are due for posting in the week leading up to Christmas. In the spirit of the season how about a few festive offerings? You don’t have to, as you may do whatever you wish, but the choice is there. Of course, any Christmas stories don’t necessarily have to be jolly affairs. I think we all enjoy a little hurt/comfort and angst.

“You seem to have me at a disadvantage,” the woman replied, in an exceptionally cut-glass accent. “Who are you, and what are you doing lurking around outside my castle?”

Lady Olivia was a woman who was born into nobility, as could be evidenced by the way she carried herself. She was used to people being in awe of her beauty and wealth, but the dark-haired intruder intrigued her. His expression was that of a man who was confident of seducing any woman with a mere look. She tried not to notice the primal stirring from deep within her.

He had something tucked behind his back, a festively wrapped package that was obviously a Christmas gift, but then again it wasn’t.

Napoleon jerked awake and quickly cursed as every joint and muscle protested the sudden movement. Falling asleep on the hard plastic visitor’s chairs in medical wasn’t the best of ideas, and Napoleon’s body was letting him know why. Stretching himself out, it took him a couple of seconds to realise the recipient of his vigil was missing from the bed. Panic gripped his heart and knotted his stomach as he jumped to his feet; dropping the holster he’d been holding on to since it had been cut from his partner.
