First of all, I'm still alive.  The flu I've been battling is a doozy, and after two weeks I'm still drained and coughing.  It's been an effort to get through work and house related things, which sadly put writing and reading at the bottom of my list.  As it is I've taken a lot of naps after work, so attention to details is not fully in gear.
We've had some challenges on summer break, but with August upon us we're ready to get the schedule back on track.  The Great Episode Challenge will take a break in August to allow ssclassof56 to head back into the classroom.  You have a month to review the older prompts and get stories posted during this open season.
What If? returns next week, as will PicFic.  That means we'll have Short_Affair, PicFic, Drabbles and What If? back to fill out the calendar. alynwa is still on vacation with Song Story, but that returns in September.
As always, you can post non-challenge stories at any time.  Check out the entries by our new member hypatia_66
Some of you may have noticed we didn't have a calendar last week or this week... my fault.  It fell victim to the flu.  We'll have it back up next week with the revised challenge schedule.
