I accidentally posted this on my journal yesterday...oops!

Circumstances beyond my control kept me from finishing this, but now it's finally done. Given next weekend Fall begins here, I got it in just under the wire.

Summary: Illya is assigned to watch after Napoleon (who's lost his mojo) while he's on a brief vacation to the Jersey shore in hopes of finding rest and recuperation.

You can find the rules of the challenge HERE

Hello All!

I'm just checking in today to say 'Hi' and to confirm my continuing attention to Section VII.  I'm working more these days and still driving my cousin's wife to dialysis once (and sometimes twice), weekly.  My writing energies are a little zapped, but I'm hopeful of getting back into the swing of things.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone who keep the fires burning here with their stories and posts.  And thank you to those who read and continue to support the writers here and elsewhere in the fandom.
With Fall just a few steps away from us, we have most of our challenges back up and running.  Please remember to check the Archive link at the top to review and perhaps read for the first time the awesome stories that have been coming from Section VII for the past five and a half years.
We're still working out the details for the 50th Anniversary of the Last Episode.  It's your opportunity to chime in and tell us what the last episode should have looked like, replacing the Seven Wonders of the World Affair... not one of my favorites.  Feel free to comment on this topic and offer any insights or suggestions that come to mind.  I suppose I mainly want to know if there's any real interest in doing this challenge.  I'm not married to it, so if you're pretty certain that you won't have the time or energy to write another story, one that would post in January, just say so.  I had the idea but it's slowly slipping away.
I am continuing to import content to Dreamwidth, and we continue to recommend that you post your stories there or on another fanfiction site.
Last year I posted the picture below and offered the opportunity to write a story about it. [livejournal.com profile] mrua7 posted her response on AO3 I think it's not a bad idea to repeat the challenge, something you can mull over and post any time this fall season.  Have a great day and keep MFU in your hearts.

PICFIC BLURB.jpg

Every Tuesday a photo prompt will be posted and you have until the following Tuesday to post your gen Man from UNCLE story. For those of you new to the challenge the rules are as follows:

Your story is Due: Tuesday September 26th. Please post on this date, but it you’re a little late, that's okay. Better late than never!

Statistical stuff: Minimum 500 words, no maximum

Subject Matter: Write a MFU story based on the photo prompt.

Posting here should fit into the GENeral concepts of the section7mfu community, contain nothing explicit
and reflects the 1960's series in style and content, featuring our brave men from U.N.C.L.E.

However, that being said, there is a GEN-mature tag option for stories that contain violence, torture,
angst or very mild het. So if your story falls under one of these categories, please use the appropriate tag(s).

Your fic. can be specifically about the prompt, featured or just mentioned in your story. It's meant to inspire!

Where to post:

Gen stories, gen-mature post in section7mfu,

Het, long term romance & AU post on our other site mfu_map_room.

All other genres post in uncle_du_jour

Subject Header: Please include in the Subject Header your title, the phrase:'For Picfic Tuesday' and the due date.

When to post:

PicFic stories post on the following Tuesday after the prompt is given. So you have a week to write your fanfic. Try to keep your story postings on Tuesday so readers will know when to look for them.

You can also post a story for any previous PicFic prompt that you might have missed. Just use the tag 'picfic' to locate any older prompts. Please note the date of the original prompt if you're posting a story for an older 'PicFic.'

( FYI: previously prompts were posted on Monday, they'll now post on Tuesday of each week)

Please include the photo prompt with your story! It's easier for the reader to relate to the story when then can see the image.

Due to LJ's new user agreement issues, we recommend that you post your stories on another host site such as AO3 or Fanfiction.net or our mirror community, Section VII on Dreamwidth and post links to them here instead of text. Still it's up to you.

Here's next week's prompt! This one takes you to Rome for your MFU adventure. Have fun writing it. We're looking forward to your stories!

My muse hasn't been very cooperative as of late, actually she's MIA. So I'm posting this redux of a story that fits today's picfic prompt.

A sense of balance
Illya can climb anything. (Specially for mrua7, who asked for more Cambridge stories)

monks182.jpg

“Where did you learn to climb?” enquired Napoleon.

“Cambridge, of course,” came the slightly breathless answer.

“I thought Cambridge was flat.”

“It is, mostly, but the buildings aren’t.”

Napoleon shaded his eyes as he looked up at his partner, perched on a window sill above, apparently unperturbed by the height and precariousness of his situation. He wondered if Illya had ever learned to float on a rising current of air – it might be a useful attribute occasionally.

This went a little bit more angsty than I planned it.
