During the 7 Days of Halloween, I know that not everyone celebrates or embraces this holiday.  I'm not a big contributor myself, but for others it's a highlight of the year.  Please don't let the day keep you from writing and posting in our challenges, even though some of them may take on a Halloween theme.  Our goal is to make certain each writer (and reader), enjoys the community fully, without pressure to conform to a particular event or season.
And with that said, here's the calendar.

"Hesitation" for Q Little Drabble Do Ya!

A double drabble:

They were in hot pursuit of an agent who was carrying  stolen documents vital to the U.S. defense plans following the Cuban missile crisis.  It was imperative they retrieve the information before it fell into the hands of the Soviets.

Solo and Kuryakin had joined pursuit with FBI and CIA, though some head butting about Illya it was resolved.

“There he is,” Kuryakin hissed.

A young man, still in his teens, and obviously trained by his Soviet masters. Illya knew that schooling all too well himself as being a good thief was like second nature to him. He’d been a very good student back in Russia.

Finally they thief cornered in an alley, holding him at gunpoint.

“Give us what you took comrade and we will do you no harm,” Illya spoke Russian.

“Traitor!” The boy spat, suddenly reaching into his jacket and drawing a Tokarev pistol.

Illya aimed, but hesitated.

Napoleon darted the boy; the Americans would want a prisoner for questioning.

“What made you hesitate tovarisch?”

“I had live rounds in my magazine….Napoleon he was only a boy and I was indoctrinated  just like him when I was younger.”

“I understand Illya, trust me I do.”

Squabbles - A Little Drabble Do Ya

"Where are we staying?"  Illya was tired and hungry,  a little beat up from the altercation they had just survived.

"Do you have any money on you? I spent my last dollar on the…"

"On that girl who was standing in line at the pub.  You spent all of your money on her?"

Illya pulled out his wallet; only twenty dollars..

"And what happened to your money?"

"I bought groceries for the woman who gave us shelter.  Quite a difference, don't you think?"

"That girl looked hungry."

"That girl looked… available."

"Twenty bucks, eh?"

UNCLE agents knew how to survive.

PicFic prompt for Tuesday October 10th

Oops day late and always a dollar short. Again my mantra....'better late than never.'

Every Tuesday a photo prompt will be posted and you have until the following Tuesday to post your gen Man from UNCLE story. For those of you new to the challenge the rules are as follows:

Your story is Due: Tuesday October 10th. Please post on this date, but it you’re a little late, that's okay. Better late than never!

Statistical stuff: Minimum 500 words, no maximum

Subject Matter: Write a MFU story based on the photo prompt.

Posting here should fit into the GENeral concepts of the section7mfu community, contain nothing explicit
and reflects the 1960's series in style and content, featuring our brave men from U.N.C.L.E.

However, that being said, there is a GEN-mature tag option for stories that contain violence, torture,
angst or very mild het. So if your story falls under one of these categories, please use the appropriate tag(s).

Your fic. can be specifically about the prompt, featured or just mentioned in your story. It's meant to inspire!

You can also post a story for any previous PicFic prompt that you might have missed. Just use the tag 'picfic' to locate any older prompts. Please note the date of the original prompt if you're posting a story for an older 'PicFic.'

Please include the photo prompt with your story! It's easier for the reader to relate to the story when then can see the image.

Balloons - A Little Drabble Do Ya! - Oct 4th

It had been a quiet day which had afforded Napoleon and Illya a chance to go out for lunch. Strolling back to the office they had to negotiate past a man selling balloons. As they manoeuvred around him, Napoleon noticed that Illya seemed to take a much wider berth than was necessary. He was even more surprised to note the mixed expression of fear and anxiety on his partner’s face.

“Don’t you like balloons?” Solo asked, more than a little concerned.

Illya’s reply was surprising, given his love of explosives.

“I do not like the loud bang when they burst.”
