HODOWE Is Back!
Jan. 25th, 2018 08:24 amWhen Section VII began six years ago, our Special Writing Event for the first year was the HODOWE... Holidays of Dubious Origins Writing Event. We covered a variety of unknown observations and netted some wonderful stories. You can check the Archives for 2012 and find those early entries.
Well,
carabele did a fine job administrating the Special Events, but she has stepped down for a bit in order to take care of Real Life issues that persist. Our thanks to her for the years she spent coming up with unusual topics.
So, beginning in February we will start a year of HODOWE, a challenge that I hope will be both fun and challenging to our writers, and great reading for everyone who comes our way.
The original and first HODOWE Challenge was Groundhog Day, and you can see that post HERE
This time around I'm giving you a choice between the two listed below. The groundrules are the same as in the original:
CHALLENGE: Write an MFU fanfic story regarding the ideas embodied in International Mother Language Day or World Thinking Day. The story doesn't have to necessarily mention or include the day by name; just embody a scenario that fits the concept behind it. You might do a little research to better understand the holiday, but it is a concept, not an actual celebration of the day that we're after.
STATISTICAL STUFF: Minimum of 500 words with no set maximum. Must fit into the overall concepts of this community, e.g., contain no explicit adult material and reflect the 1960s series in style and content.
Posting will begin on February 21 and run through the following week, officially closing on the 27th. Of course we're lax here, so the main thing is write a story and share it.
I hope you'll join in and help us celebrate six years of writing on Section VII.
