Hi!  It's good to be back and to kick off the new season, I've chosen The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You" and "Waste Not, Want Not." Click on the links to get the lyrics and/or watch the song videos below.

The rules are simple: Using one of the songs as inspiration, background or setting, write a story of at least 500 words with no maximum length.  Section VII is a Gen site, but if your tale veers into Het or Slash, not to worry, post your story in the mfu_maproom or uncle_du_jour, respectively, with a link posted in Section VII.  Please use the tag "song story."

Posting begins on Thursday, October 17th and runs through the 19th.

I'm looking forward to what we come up with, so happy writing!

About Peripatetic

Nomads, soldiers, and restless explorers all lead peripatetic lives. The term refers to anyone who travels from one place to another on foot, but its most specific definition applies to those who do so for fun. As they say, not all who wander are lost.

Did you Know?

Peripatetic also refers to the followers of Aristotle, whose teachings inspired a school of philosophy. Though informal, the institution had a strong influence on subsequent thinkers.

You may think the door has closed on this challenge, but nay, 'tis not so.  You can still post a long story, 5000 word minimum and Gen in nature, by using the link to the AO3 Collection: Long Story Affair

Stories should be, as mentioned above, 5000 words (minimum), Gen, Napoleon and Illya centric.  Other series regulars and original characters welcome.

We are looking for stories to fill this challenge as a nod to the 55th Anniversary of our show, The Man from UNCLE.
