May Song Story Challenge: Simon & Garfunkel!

This month's challenge songs are "America" and "I Am a Rock."  Click on the links to access the song lyrics.  The rules are simple: Write a story of minimally 500 words with no maximum using one of the songs as a prompt.  The song can be the basis of the story, the background of the story or the inspiration for the story.

Section VII is a gen site and only gen or gen-mature stories can be posted here.  Slash stories can be posted in uncle_du_jour and het can be posted in mfu_maproom.  Posting begins Thursday, May 18th and goes through the 21st.
