Opps... What If I forgot to post a prompt?

I did... forget to post a prompt.  So, a day late but never forgotten completely, here it is.
What if Illya and Marion hadn't broken it off (as we assume they did since we never see her again after The Giuoco Piano Affair).  What if he can't live without her.  What does he do about it and what is her response?
There are a number of stories out there with the couple in tact, or working things out or some other scenario.  I have my version that ties into my Vanya series.
What do you think might have happened?
