We have room on Fridays for something that will let us go back into the Archives and see our past via the stories that have populated our community and helped us to grow.
Sadly the Great Episode Challenge is on hiatus as

ssclassof56 deals with some family issues. We will miss having her here on a regular basis, but the spot is being held for her until she's ready to return. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Since we are bringing back the HODOWE Challenge (Holidays of Dubious Origins Writing Event), and Groundhog Day is nearly upon us (Feb 2), here are the stories that came out of the inaugural event.

Six years ago we opened up the Section VII community as a place for writers and readers who enjoy the primarily canon based environment of the series, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Initially we began the challenge on ff.net with a community there called UNCLE Headquarters. We originally started out because LJ was in the midst of one of its upheavals, and we needed a place to operate and share. We archived a few 'first stories' by several writers, opened up a Forum and created the precursor of what would become Section VII. These are still functioning on ff.net although we've not used them very much since everything began to prosper here.

The dates below have multiple entries except for the last two, which are single entries. You will notice the names of people who don't frequent here, some having moved on and no longer writing MFU.

nsandik, is now writing and publishing as Indie Author Regina Duke.

wendiez has also published, and allowed me the opportunity to create the cover art for her book Tempered in the Fire.

periwinkle27 passed away shortly after, but her influence here is embedded in our drabbles, something she encouraged me to promote, and had plans to include in a drabble e-zine.
We have a rich heritage in a very short period of time. Thanks to all who have made it happen and continue to contribute and support us here on Section VII.
