The ABC Affair II Challenge- Day 22

Even though I've posted an end date and an extension date of July 7th for the Challenge, don't fret if you're behind in posting your stories. Just finish them and post them when you can.

Life gets in the way of art, and it's understandable that it happens to all of us! Today my apartment complex was the scene of an armed hostage incident and locked down. I was evacuated from my building along with a lot of other residents. It was a long day outside but luckily the weather wasn't too hot, and the rain held off.  The police did a wonderful job, and no one was hurt.

That was a dramatic bit of life getting in the way for me writing my next chapter.

For whatever  reason you're delayed, just keep on writing and post your stories when you can!

We've had a wonderful response to the challenge so far by everyone!

Thanks! One thing I discovered is that I have a lot of crackpot neighbors. And this is the reason why I've pretty much kept to myself here for over 15 years....

Way too much drug use here, lots of drinking/alcoholism, fighting, domestic abuse. The super is trying to clear out the druggies, but the new people they rent to end up being trouble as well. They put on a good front to get the rental, then show their true colors.

A 32 yr old woman that lived in my building was found dead a few months ago. Drank herself to death...though she was a drug user and had OD'd three times, and been to rehab. The super told me when she walked her dog, the backpack she was wearing had a gallon bottle of vodka in it... Could tell you lots more stories. Besides becoming unaffordable here, the neighbors one of the reasons I want to get out of here.

Wish Affordable housing would call and say they have a new apartment for me...sheesh!

PS there were 2 cop cars in here today knocking on someone's door in the building across from me. It never ends.
