I'm behind in all my reading but the photo you chose piqued my interest. Liked this very much and hope you'll expand this story. It has great potential.
Don't know if you read my post about what happened in my apartment complex two days ago; we had an armed hostage situation. The entire complex was on lockdown and buildings 1-8 were evacuated as a precaution. So I had to spend the day away from my apartment with the other evacuees. No internet service so couldn't use my iPad...distressing being cut off like that. Never was in danger. Police were wonderful about watching over us. Thank goodness the weather wasn't hot and humid like today. Luckily no one was hurt and the standoff ended around 5pm...whoa!
Thanks again (I've replied about the story on AO3).
No, I didn't see your post - must put you into my bookmarks (or can I get them automatically in my Inbox?) Wow, what a situation. I'm glad it's been resolved and everyone is safe. And I know what you mean about the iPad. It's a bit alarming how dependent we have all become on our electronic devices.
I can't remember where you are, but it's very hot here in the UK, too, (by our standards) - in the high 80s even in Scotland. It's been like it for a week or more. Very unnerving not to have rain - my garden is very stressed from lack of water. I keep favoured plants alive with water from the rainwater butt, but the lawn is a disaster area. The weeds, however, seem to thrive...
You have to add me as a friend in order to see my journal posts. I have it locked to friends only.
I'm in New Jersey. I heard that you were having hot weather in the UK....The hot weather here has been extended from this weekend to the entire week all in the high 90's but with the humidity it'll feel well over 100 degrees. I don't think I'll be going outside anytime soon other than later in the evening to give the garden a watering. I have mostly perennials that are all starting to bloom, plus I planted some seedlings of mixed wild flowers, they're just coming up so I don't want them to burn. Luckily we're not under any sort of watering restriction as we had a very wet spring.
Isn't it amazing how weeds thrive under any conditions?
I thought I'd friended you already - you're certainly in the list in my profile. I must have missed doing something else - and not just with you, because, apart from Charlie, I don't automatically get posts from other people on the list.
