I'm going to over indulge here and post two stories.  The first one because jantojones posted a very pithy cat item earlier today, and so a cat story seemed unavoidable.
The second one is there because in reading it again I was very pleased with it.  Sometimes the voices are so close to the original that I can't help but enjoy it, even when it's mine and the self-gratification is embarrassingly obvious.
