section7mfuNapoleon and Illya didn't hesitate at the sound of the scream, both of them running towards it. When they arrived near to where they thought it had come from a strange light began to form, finally morphing into the image of a white haired madman whose taunting gestures seemed to be an invitation to them to come closer.
Nodding to each other in a silent communication of the strategy they would employ, the two agents approached the apparition from opposite sides, finally stopping short of the image itself. The dimly lit room made the ghostly image more effective, but it was clearly seen now, up close to it, that it was a projection being beamed down from the ceiling.
"Why? It is a clever technique, but why is it here?" Illya was intrigued, although his senses were on high alert. Napoleon was trying to see more clearly when his communicator warbled its familiar tune.
"Solo here, what is ...?" He didn't finish his question before an unfamiliar voice came through, causing Napoleon to look more closely at his communicator as he held the slim instrument out in front of him, as though it might help identify the caller.
"Ah, Mr. Solo. It's so nice of you to drop in...' A cackling round of laughter ensued, prompting Napoleon to look over to his partner and check his response.
"Oh, Mr. Kuryakin isn't here, he's going to be experiencing another part of the ship." Another cackle and then silence. Napoleon was left in the darkness as the projection of the madman disappeared along with his partner.
