I'm still writing a story for one of the Pic Fic prompts from November 6th. I've set up what I think is an intriguing situation, but have thus far failed to find a reason for it. I'm 1000 words in and, although there's probably many ways the story could develop, none of them are presenting themselves to me.

Does anyone fancy giving it a glance and letting me know what it suggests to them?
