Thank you cuz! It's a good weekend read for sure. Hoping to catch up myself this weekend as we're supposed to get some pretty wild weather. Today is warm, a little rain, but really high winds. Supposed to be worse tomorrow. Hopefully no power outage, especially Sunday for the premier of Game of Thrones. Woot! lol!
I think I must be the only person on this entire planet who hates GoT. I've always been a fantasy fan, but I find GoT to be badly-written, contrived, and overly convoluted. I read the first book years ago before the TV show and hated it. I had to force myself to finish it. I've given the shows a few tries because people have urged me to 'give it another go', but I just can't get into it.
Still, each to their own and, I can't deny, it does brings enjoyment to millions of people.
I'm one of those people who doesn't read a book ahead of time (with the exception of Lord of the Rings, and Chronicles of Narnia) So I can make no judgement about the books. I'm enjoying the series well enough, but am looking forward to finding out who will end up being the winner...if anyone. I like the show Vikings too, but once they killed off Ragnar, I wasn't enjoying it as much, so I won't mind when that one's over either.
Both shows have made a lot of money for people, and in then end that's what it's all about. Money, not necessarily quality entertainment. Though I guess it had to be good enough for it to last for 8 seasons. Once they're over, I can live without them. Same thing happened with TrueBlood. It started out good and then got really, really stupid, especially with the characters Sookie and her brother Jason. Sheesh!
