Writer's Choice - The Amy Series

Someone in the mfu_canteen asked about people's images of Napoleon's Aunt Amy.  I realize most see her as an elderly little lady, the most immediate image conjured by the title of aunt.  I took a different route, and in addition to posting the link to my Aunt Amy series on AO3, I'm posting it here (undoubtedly something I've done before), and hoping my version of here resonates on some level with others.

The title Aunt is so aging I refuse to be called it. The word should be abolished. I became a great-aunt shortly before my 23rd birthday. That child is now middle-aged and has children of his own - my great-great nieces. Awful - I haven't even gone grey yet.

Thanks for posting this for the Writer's and Reader's choice, I enjoyed your sideways approach to Aunt Amy.

My version of her is older, but very feisty and able to handle herself in a pinch. (She was a big influence on her nephew in that regards, as well as his taste for the finer things in life. My Aunt Amy version travels the world on her own and is a very independent free spirited woman, sort of like Auntie Mame. Her late husband left her well off but she was a savvy investor herself when it came to money.)
