Breaking the Fourth Wall, a literary device with origins in the theater, in which the character references that he is controlled by another; in our case, a writer. Here's how wikipedia puts it:
The method of breaking the fourth wall in literature is typically referred to as metafiction. Metafiction genre occurs when a character within a literary work acknowledges the reality that they are in fact a fictitious being.
We do have a category icon and a tag here on Section VII, although we haven't explored it a lot, sadly. It assumes that you, the writer, are recognized as holding the key to what happens next, a fact that can annoy, frustrate or amuse your character(s).
So, imagine that is what is going on in the photo below; Napoleon and Illya have read what is happening to them on the pages they hold, and what might ensue as a result. Going with that idea, write something about it. It can be all dialogue, or something more proactive on their parts.
There's no time limit on this one, no real guidelines except the ones normally observed here on this community. From drabbles to epics, let's try our hand at this literary vehicle and see how far we can travel with it.

Look Illya, look what it says here...
