"Hot Stuff" for A Little Drabble Do Ya!

A double drabble...

Napoleon and Illya walked along the sidewalk, heading towards headquarters.

The streets were pretty empty at the heat was brutal, well over 100 degrees. The temperature that had been like this for days.

Kuryaking was again suffering from the heat like always and he’d removed his suit jacket to reveal only a dark grey tee-shirt. 

Down the block a fire extinguisher was open and a group of children were playing in the water as it gushed out into the street.

“Not a very good idea,” Illya said.” It will lower water pressure and if in the event of a fire…”

“Knock it off, it’s just innocent kids trying to keep cool,”Napoleon said.

As they passed the hydrant Napoleon suddenly shoved his partner into the water, laughing as he did so.

The Russian was angered but when the water cooled him off, he too smiled. Just as suddenly he grabbed Solo, dragging him into the water as well. 

They were surrounded by squealing children who laughed at the grownups joining them.

Finally Napoleon and Illya retreated, heading to headquarters; upon entering they received stares from everyone who saw them.

“Wow, talk about sweating,” Napoleon quipped. ”It’s really hot out there.”

Thank you! Inspired by the hot weather here. I've had them have snowball fights in the winter, so why not playing in the water too on a hot day? Of course leave it to Napoleon to come up with a quick explanation as to why they were both soaked. lol!

Yeah, heaven forbid they get caught....though I think everyone knows with the two of them being friends, that some sort of kibitzing happens now and then. "D

Are you shocked I wrote a double drabble? Haven't done that in ages. The muse is being very cooperative. I think she wants to stick with me out of the hot weather.

Thank you! As I said in reply to Laurose, it made sense to me they'd kibitz around sometimes, I have them doing that in some winters stories...having a snowball fight. Tightly wound people need to relax and be even child like once in a while.
