About Ameliorate

Throughout history, people have come up with some strange ways of ameliorating — or making better — symptoms of sickness or ill health. Mr. Waverly had hoped that the addition of a Soviet to UNCLE would ameliorate some of the Cold War distrust and hate that seemed to permeate headquarters. He hoped that once people got to know Agent Kuryakin things would be better. So far his hope had been for naught. Agent Kuryakin's personality made it difficult to befriend him and distrust was rampant. He was however, willing to give his plan more time.
