Napoleon Solo's forté was his unwavering sense of right and justice, his foible was of course, the ladies... Illya's foibles were many...his love of cats, food and the never ending need to learn. In a way they could be looked upon as some of his strengths as well. The study of epistemology though was his most passionate pursuit. The knowledge he gained got he and is partner out of many's the tight squeeze. Between that and Napoleon 'flying by the seat of his pants' plans, the team of Solo and Kuryakin succeeded again and again.

They never thought the day would come that formula would fail them....

Mr. Waverly made it his business to know as much about his agents as was humanly possible. He knew their past, present, fears, desires all their foibles. Waverly didn't pursue this knowledge as an epistemology study. This information was as essential to him as an UNCLE special was to his agents.
