It Happened Again! - A quick double drabble for the Daily Prompt

Napoleon was looking forward to getting to the office. Even his car breaking down, and forcing him to take a cab, hadn’t dampened his mood. Although, he did need to make sure he got there before Illya. There was a new girl starting in communications who Napoleon was very much looking forward to meeting. He’d read her file and had been immediately attracted.

It wasn’t just her photograph, which showed a dark haired beauty with piercing eyes, but also her intelligence. Valerie Osman had majored in European languages, and minored in physics. Napoleon enjoyed spending time with women who had more about them than just their looks, and she certainly fell into that category. However, she was also exactly Illya’s type; which was why he needed to get to work before him.

The cab turned onto the street on which Del Floria’s was situated, Napoleon saw his partner strolling along the sidewalk. He was animatedly talking with the dark haired woman who was walking with him. As Napoleon passed, he quickly realised who the woman was. Illya had gotten to Miss Osman ahead of him.

Illya glanced across at the cab and, upon seeing Napoleon’s look of disgust, simply shrugged.

Still, some girls do prefer Napoleon. And he has lots of consolation ready.
