Alexander Waverly read and re-read the numbers in front of him and sighed. U.N.C.L.E. was quite a wealthy organisation, thanks to legitimate business interests, and the patenting of several inventions devised by the R&D department. However, the costs of some things were skyrocketing, and the accountants were covetous of the funds available. Despite being an exceptionally long way from financial trouble, measures were going to have to be taken to prevent unnecessary spending.

He activated the comms unit on the desk.

“Miss Rogers, please call Solo and Kuryakin to my office.”

All these expenses claims were getting out of hand.

It makes sense that U.N.C.L.E. would need a source of income, and with scientists and engineers in their ranks, inventing stuff seems like a good way.
