Magik was injured in training and was retired, so while he trained he never raced. Willow's kennel went out of business and since she was a "spook" - (a term that is used for greyhounds that are fearful of everything) she was given to the rescue/adoption group. It took my husband and I a bit over a year to get Willow to trust us and not be afraid of everything. She is much better now tho still timid. Magik is VERY outgoing and he helps her a lot.

Coco is still afraid of loud noises and lands on me if there is one, but she is so loving now.

Oh I squeeze in where I can, We have 3 couches and 3 big chairs, plus 8 dog beds, but invariably we are sitting where the hounds want to be.

Greyhounds are VERY lazy (couch potatoes really) and a short walk each day is enough, along with what running they do in the yard and house (45 mph dogs in the house is a riot!)

I had no idea greyhounds would be lazy, it just doesn't seem like it should be in their nature, but what do I know? I can imagine what the in-house racetrack must be like, though!

Greyhounds are called "the 45mph couch potatoes".

Our carpet has wrinkles in it from where they run and then stop (sliding) several feet.

I'm so glad they're thriving. We have a small but successful greyhound resettlement group in NZ, too, and their show greyhounds are one of the better sights of the fairs they go.

Magik appears to be making a definite success of retirement. Long may they both thrive!
