Take Your Pet to Work Week, "The Trio"

I don't have any photos of Tovarish, Tomodachi or Maneki, so I'll have to describe them and hope that everyone can kinda picture them.

First is Tovarish, the eldest of them and the "matriarch". She's a grey tabby DSH with a buff-coloured belly and an "ink spot" a little below where her tail meets her rear paws. She has white "eyeliner" that is interrupted by a thin strip of smoke along both sides of her nose. She has a penchant for reacting to medical emergencies (she even escaped our apartment earlier this month when I got a new bed, stopping just outside the apartment of a neighbor who needed to go to the hospital but couldn't call for help [the apartment manager asked me to get Tovarish, then he realized that he needed to call 9-1-1/9-9-9 for the neighbor].) She has been reacting to medical emergencies for a decade already (she's ten years old now) so I can picture her "working" for Medical in U.N.C.L.E (when she's not pulling her "Harriet Houdini" routine/"Your [expletive] Cat" antics.) It takes two to do what she does alone!

Next up is Tomodachi, a tuxedo DLH and the lone male in the household. His age is unknown since he (along with Maneki) were rescues/confiscated from a hoarder who refused to keep any records of any of the cats on the property. He's being "groomed" to step into Tovarish's pawprints when it comes to alerting to medical emergencies if/when required, but he's not as alert as Tovarish is, medical-wise (he's more security-detail, I think.)

Last is Maneki, a dilute calico DSH female that I got at the same time as Tomodachi (they came as a pair in a 2-for-1 adoption at the local Humane Society, confiscated at the same time and place, but they're not related.) She is also being "groomed" for Medical, but her temperament is more Section II imho (if U.N.C.L.E actually existed irl.) She, along with Tomodachi, has reacted to neighbors/neighbors' guests who have been going around without the required face masks [and sometimes clothes, too!] inside the apartment complex (we live in an apartment complex that houses both elderly and disabled tenants, the majority having some form of underlying medical condition.) She doesn't escape as Tovarish does, but she's hyper-aware of what's going on around her inside/just outside the apartment.

Edited to add: Found out something interesting about The Trio! They won't start eating their dinner unless they actually see the patient eating (I thought it was a once-off, but it isn't!) Neither Illya nor Napoleon will get away with anything in Medical!

Medical cats, sounds interesting. They all sound beautiful and I especially love calicos (next to black long fur)

Tomodachi has long black fur (just picture the stage production of Cats from 1998 and Mister Mistofelees, the Magical Cat, except with long fur.) True, Tomodachi has less white, but he kinda follows the same pelt pattern.

I cannot have a service dog due to allergies, but cats can react to medical emergencies, too. Heck, my previous feline companion, Shadow Kibblesbane, would home in on whomever had some kind of medical problem/news without any prompting from the studio audience (like mom's cancer, dad's diabetic emergencies, my older sister's pregnancy, etc.) Then, with Tovarish, she homed in on a former neighbor when he had his stroke in a different apartment when she was less than three months old!

I don't know what they do or how they do it, but I wouldn't trade them in for all the gold in Fort Knox!

My father in laws nursing home had a cat that always spent the last few hours with those passing, never figured out how he knew

Sounds like Oscar*, a cat that lived in a nursing home who would gravitate to the resident who was going to pass away after making his "rounds", alerting the human staff to notify family members (Oscar shed his mortal coil a while ago, too.)

* - I'm not sure if that was his human name, but you might recognize the feline in question

Your babies sound wonderful. The medical alerting is pretty doggoned amazing.

And there is nothing like a handsome man in a tuxedo, there just isn't. (One of those owns me.)

Do you have a photo of your tuxedo? If you do, I'd like to see him (I didn't post one because none of my feline companions are willing to sit still long enough to submit to a photo shoot.) Heck, the only way I can/could get one is if I ask for security footage from my apartment manager.

The Trio are wonderful, yet a handful. They have an innate ability to sense something is amiss (as I posted above.) Heck, Tovarish might be able to "home in" on Illya before Napoleon inside U.N.C.L.E HQ if Illya needs Medical.

Your Trio are amazing! They would definitely make good UNCLE cats! All three of them!

Here is my Fletcher. He's getting rather old and so lounges about a lot. In his tuxedo, of course.

Fletcher is gorgeous! Tomodachi has less white on him (the area above and to the sides of his face are black where Fletcher's white, plus Tomodachi's legs are black [not a strand of white fur anywhere on his legs].)

Fletcher could be "assisting" Waverly in his office, making occasional forays into the Commissary for dinner/snack. *blush*

Thank you! I am so glad he adopted me last year (after being discarded by his family at the age of 13).

Although Fletcher is not much of a fetch-n-carry sort of guy, he would probably make an exception for Mr. Waverly, alerting staff to when he needs his tea (or Isle of Dogs replenishment, although Fletcher disdains the name of the tobacco).

And he and Napoleon and Tomodachi could debate the merits of bespoke tuxedos!

Fletcher doesn't have to fetch-and-carry, just alert someone of Waverly's immediate requirements (just like how Tovarish lets someone know of a medical emergency.)
