section7mfuI'm not happy with the idea of skipping our annual Christmas Round Robin.
What I think is that we need to step over the two P words that have dominated 2020:
Pandemic and Politics
They exist, they present discomfort and anger and grief.
But are you really ready to let them dominate and rule your lives?
I'm serious.
I understand how rough the year has been. I'm right there with you. The company I worked for folded during the initial lockdown, leaving me without the job I intended to be with until I decided to not work anymore. My dear cousin died from pancreatic cancer... not covid. Not any less of a trauma in our family, like so many others in the world. Many of you have similar stories to tell, experiences that are, in the end, life.
One of the certainties of life is that everything is subject to change.
So why can't we write something to lessen the pressures of life and extend the wonderful world of MFU?
Why not step back into that ray of sunshine and awe,
into the lives of the two men we've been loving and writing about for years?
Why not acknowledge that we can overcome the things that try to keep us imprisoned in the cellar of doubt and fear?
Will you make a committment to writing again, to liberate yourself from despair and longing for a better world, by writing one into the annals of fan fiction history?
In the coming days I'm going to present the prompt first chapter of a round robin. I'm hoping the writers among us will join in and take a step back into the world of Solo and Kuryakin, and leave the real world behind.
Sometimes our greatest incentive to produce and to fill a page, is the realization that it needs to be done.
For the Greater Good people!
