I vote for Napoleon being from upstate New York: close to French speaking Canada, census says high concentration of the name Solo, and I can see the caption on his high school yearbook picture being "Cazanovia's own Cassanova".

In Norman Felton's original notes, Napoleon was from Quebec City. He remained Canadian through several revisions for the show. They changed him to American only after NBC executives complained that they didn't want U.S. viewers to identify Solo too closely with Bond [remember the whole Ian Fleming involvement mess.] And yes, Bond was British but the clueless NBC execs thought British and Canadian were too close [sigh].

not shallow at all ! I answered "Duh, Kuryakin" on the last question because of that ski jacket. My first thought was that April would look great in a ski outfit, then the blue jacket + turtleneck proved to be too enticing :-D
