 “We’re sure the cipher is in Speedman’s library?” Napoleon set aside a copy of Sappho, adding to the growing pile of books at his feet.

 

“You would doubt the last words of a dying man?” Illya replied, absently, turning a page. Napoleon looked at him and saw the booklet in his hands: The Georgetown Anthem, Spring 1951. His heart froze.

 

“Put that down!”

 

Too late. Illya’s eyes met his over the top of the magazine.

 

“It’s some other Napoleon Solo,” he lied, ridiculously, “a pen name.”

 

“I don’t see why you should be embarrassed, it’s not such a bad poem.”

Aw, I like this! Idk why, but I can really picture the idea of Napoleon writing poetry. It fits him somehow.
