[identity profile] glennagirl.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] section7mfu
Sometime last year I considered opening a new community.  For whatever reason, it never developed and I just let it sort of percolate in the back of my mind.
But this is a new year, and new things seem to be cropping up in different directions.  I for one don't want to fail to follow the muse, or the path or whatever we need to call our wandering proclivities.
What this is, I hope, is a nice place to carry on a conversation about MFU, the episodes and the men who make it memorable.
Admittedly, and as most who have been kind enough to read any of my stories know, the thing I love is mission related, gen fiction.  I love the series the way it looked to me when I was a kid.   You know, the way it made me fall for the Russian, or that made you giddy over Napoleon.
I'm not inviting my flist in a rush to fill the place, but if you're interested in the kind of propaganda that promotes World Peace through Handsome Intervention, then I hope you'll stop in and visit here.  I can't think of a better form of PR.
Glenna

I'm just now getting back in touch with the world. It looked like we would be on the road to Carolina Beach by now, and I spent much of the morning trying to locate a decent hotel room there without a two-night minimum.

Thank goodness, MG realized that it's too cold for me to endure about a four-hour trip (one way) for what might have been a one-hour memorial service. (Actually, I think the deciding factor was that he didn't want to drive the four hours.)

A community for the promotion of propaganda for world peace through handsome intervention sounds like my kind of place. I do miss the MFU that I knew.

About the icon, I asked Illya to bring the canon. This was the best he could do on short notice. :)

I'm rather fond of the icon, too. You know me, I can't avoid a play on words. :)

I need to tweak my "flammable" icon a tad, so the dear boy can be seen a bit better.

You know what they say. The size of a man's canon and all.......

Awesome icon, Cat! And don't worry, the MFU you remember has never been lost. Like the readers in Farenheit 451, we carry those memories with us wherever we go. Rock on.

Thank you, Avery, and your "Bow-Wow" icon is totally adorable!

Like Glenna, I feel like a 10-year-old kid here for some reason, which is a good thing in my case as the long-term memory is better than the short-term memory!

By the way, many thanks again for the PMs the other day. ((Hugs!))

Taking a brief pause from writing to say I'm here, and glad to be part of your mission to promote the cause of world peace through Handsome Intervention.
More later. :)

Is this little place for writers only?

I'm not writer, but I'd love to join you in your search for world peace, and join the boys and my cousins in their efforts.

At last! AFter you held my hand and pointed where to go and I still couldn't figure it out, thank goodness you sent an invitation. *sigh*

Hard to believe I navigate the world of epublishing, isn't it? LOL!

Saving the world through Handsome Intervention is what the best part of life is about. :-)
Oh, and promoting peace, too. :-D

Sounds like just the sort of career move I'd like to make. May I join the ranks of Section VII?

Thank you for creating this community. I hope it fares well.

I'm now on the payroll. Passed my security clearance exam and everything. :-)

I must say, I like the 'no adult content' clause of the offer of employment. If I want that, I can go many other places on lj (like my own journal, lol). But this place... as you say, it's nice to have someplace where cousins of all ages can safely play.

As do we at Section Eight. We are aptly named; trust me.

In UNCLE, Section 8 is the lab. Are you representing the scientists?

Research and Development. It seemed appropriate, since that's what I do with stories anyway. And of course, there is always the non-UNCLE meaning of a "Section Eight"...

A "Section Eight" is what Corporal Klinger was bucking for on MASH. It's a euphemism for losing one's marbles.

Actually, my true name for the site is "La Vie Neuf"--The Ninth Life. When togsos created my banner, she used the name I had at the time, which was "Section Eight." Later on I thought of "La Vie Neuf," which I prefer. I'd change my banner to reflect the new name if I could, but I don't know how.

I figure Illya and Napoleon probably used up eight of their lives as active agents, but the ninth life is reserved for their personal fulfillment. I like that thought.

PS: Nearly halfway done with "10 Plagues." YAY!

Well, made it here! But under a different screen name. mrua-means red-haired m in Irish and I guess the 7 is a nice tie in for Section VII. Most of you know your way around here on LJ, so I may ask some dumb questions as I'm very green when it comes to belonging to a community,
But happy to be here!
