Yes, delightful isn't it? I have to admit my favorites are up there, so a certain amount of self-indulgence is present in this poll. Still, I think they're good choices :D
This was a pleasant diversion for a poll, and yes, some of my favorites are up there too. Though I would have preferred chocolate ice cream to chocolate fudge. LOL!
Napoleon to me is definitely creme brulee -- super smooth.
I pegged Illya as vanilla bean frozen custard -- a bit unexpected but definitely nice. However, on reconsideration maybe a snickerdoodle is more apt. You know, cause the cracked surface brings up visual references of his preference to blow things up. [chuckle]
Honestly, I only care the WE know what these desserts are. I mean, it's not as though these men actually are desserts. We only hope that they are themselves real.
Very interesting. I must admit my choices seemed to reflect the more elusive aspects of their personalities. With Napoleon he seems all smooth and creamy with the warmth of his silky delivery and the coolness that just is NS. But it's the bits inside, the vanilla bean if you will, that give this frozen confection (vanilla bean frozen custard) it's real character. IK... you must crack the surface in order to get to what's really in store; a rich and satisfying experience.
I had no idea what a snickerdoodle was so I googled imaged it and it's nothing what I thought it was like. I thought it was like a Knickerbocker Glory so that may have skewed my voting choices.

Illya was a bit more of a challenge. I just couldn't decide whether he was the taste explosion that is chocolate fudge, or a silkier creme brulee.
In the end I decided his pale, creamy deliciousness made it creme brulee all the way.

Date: 2013-07-25 09:12 pm (UTC)Honestly I don't think vanilla bean frozen custard would have existed per se in the 1960s at all. It would simply have been vanilla ice cream.
So not going from that perspective myself.
