In response to the most recent poll, Constructing A Story, we actually have some that have been built around some aspect of the poll.  More are welcome, you can post at any time.  Here's what we have so far:
The Big Bang Affair by [livejournal.com profile] glennagirl
An Explosive Situation by [livejournal.com profile] avrovulcan
The Drawing Board by [livejournal.com profile] mrua7

In response to a suggestion by [livejournal.com profile] avrovulcan this will be added to our list of challenges.  Every once in a while we will construct a story based on the results of a poll, as we've done here.  It's a fun way to write, and another method for all of us to utilize in honing our skills.  Thanks again to all who participated in the poll, and for those who are taking on the challenge.

This is quite similar to what I used to do with my fifth graders. I would suggest several settings, characters, and plots and let the students vote on which ones should be used.

Once it was narrowed down to a particular setting, character, and plot I would have them write their stories. Based on their votes some of the story lines were forced to be quite convoluted.

I was always amazed how creative they got and many were terrific stories. Over the 26 years that I taught school I wish that I had kept copies of some of them.
