Angst, drama, friendship and devotion... it's all here.  I remember reading this story for the first time and thinking what a great episode it would have been, very much in the vein of 60's TV drama.  Of course it seems as though it was the westerns that usually had these types of really dramatic situations, but these are our 'cowboys' and this story will leave you wishing the actors could have played this one out onscreen.
