Very kindly, glennagirl suggested I should post my new story (or at least the first two parts of it) here. I agree that it seems to fit the kind of story people like here, i.e. written in the spirit and style of the TV series. In this case, there is a little more getting up close and personal in the first part, and perhaps a little more violence in the last part, but nothing over the top. My main theme, as you will see if you persevere with it, is the price people are prepared to pay for total security, if such a thing exists in the world.

I've written the whole thing, but didn't want to overwhelm people with all seven parts at once, as it is lengthy. Will be posting Part Three tomorrow, as I'm going away for a week.
