Undefeated - A Drabble
Jan. 22nd, 2012 11:30 amThere is something in the depths of the human soul that cannot accept death. Death stands as an enemy to be defeated; waging that war is what propels people to greatness. To lose is to gain nothing, contrary to what philosophers and theologians say.
Illya Kuryakin had no intention of losing this war with death. He had not come this far, survived the war and the Germans, his own countrymen, to succumb now to an eternal void. Death was his enemy, and those who wielded the weapons intended for his demise would go away defeated
They would simply be gone.
