Writer's Choice - The Starting Gate Affair

This is one of those stories that I thought about for a long time.  The idea of IK as a jockey struck me when I saw a picture of a very young DMc on horseback, and I thought he looked like he probably didn't weigh over 125 pounds, if that.  That got me to thinking that if he were to try really hard, he could lose enough weight to mount a thoroughbred and get in, as they say, under the wire.
I received some scathing remarks on this one, but I stand by it if for no other reason than it is fiction, first of all, and it's my little fantasy; I claim full possession of literary license.
It's long, but I hope you'll make some time for it and visualize our young men from UNCLE.
