I am underwhelmed.

At what?  What are you talking about now?

Look at that painting.  Even in the best tradition of abstract art, this is nothing more than ... it’s a mess.

I wonder who painted it?

I do not intend to inquire, it is obviously the work of a self-indulgent individual with delusions of talent.

Gee whiz, Illya, that’s a little harsh.

I have a particular distaste for pretentious works such as this.  The idea that someone would display this and actually assume that...

This really cracked me up! Although I'd like to think Illya would be more inclusive in his artistic taste, I can also see him going all provincial on Napoleon, and complaining about the lack of discipline in contemporary art (as he sees it). Really clever.

It's splashes of paint, and you really can't see it that well on-line. Art needs to be observed at different distances, and by the post we don't know how big or small it actually is.

Think about this and then consider a Jackson Pollack 'painting'....

Actually, I googled bad abstract art and this came up. I do think Linda is correct however, because it appeared to be included in children's art projects. Still, it fits the bill :D

I'm with Illya it's terrible, but then I like my art more classical and traditional (except when it comes to sculpture.. I'll also voice my opinion when I'm in a gallery.

I like brilliant :D thanks. I'm not a big fan of abstract, but I'm always amazed at the real talent possessed by many abstract artists. It doubles my surprise when I find out they are excellent draftsmen/women who are capable of more realistic art.
Then again, there are those who honestly can't do more than flick paint and pour out of gallon cans.
