Thinking about the seasonal challenge for next year

So since the last Mood-Y Challenge is coming up this month, I've been thinking about what type of challenge to run as the seasonal challenge next year (2015).

My idea is something I am calling the LIFECYCLE Challenge

The concept is based roughly on the idea of the "circle of life" in that I would provide of prompt relating in some way to a facet of human living. As an example, the prompt might be something like REGRET.

So what do folks think of this idea?

The other option would be to revive the HODOWE Challenge (with different obscure holidays of course).

To provide a little more info, these are the holidays I would use for the renewal of the HODOWE in 2015, if we go that route.

Hmmm it's a toss up. I did like the HOWDOWE challenges too. There would only be 4 of them right if you did HOWDOWE...could be interesting to see what obscure holidays you could come up with?

I think 5 is fine as a monthly one was a lot on top of all the other challenges. I'm sure whatever you decide on will be a good challenge.

Interesting choices....that's the second reference to "The Sweetest Day" that I've seen recently, though I have never heard of it before.

Not HOWDOWE, it's HODOWE, which stands for Holidays of Dubious Origins Writing Event.

Sorry, I've been typing for the last hour, with a horrible headache, and my brain is beginning to turn to mush.

I prefer the idea of the LIFECYCLE Challenge, only because my knowledge of American holidays is quite limited.

No need to apologize. I just wanted for it to make sense what the acronym stands for, and thus the spelling is part of that. ;-)

I rather prefer the LIFECYCLE Challenge myself since it would be its inaugural run. HODOWE is backtracking, which I think Glenna prefers not to do with the challenges if possible.

Of course the holidays for the HODOWE are unique as those haven't been used before in the challenge. So the backtracking part is eased a bit in that scenario.

A poll is an excellent idea, that way readers and writers alike can chime in. I personally have a soft spot for HODOWE, and we had excellent responses on those. Everyone loves a holiday ;)
You have some interesting ones chosen, so my vote is already in. Another option, do both.
I'll amend my original response and say that the Life Cycles has some very interesting possibilities, so...
Do the poll. If nothing else it gets people thinking about it.
