“When did you learn to be fearless?”

The two agents looked at the boy who had become their charge after rescuing him from a THRUSH satrapy devoted to brainwashing students.

“Fearless? What do you mean by that?”

Illya’s question in response to the boy’s own seemed to disarm the youngster.

“You guys. You just rushed in and… and saved me. And you weren’t afraid.”

Napoleon smiled, a slight hint of discomfort behind the effort. He was bleeding still, the bullet in his arm a reminder of his… bravery.

“We aren’t fearless son. We had a job to do.”

“Me?”

“Yes.”

Your drabble fits the expression on Napoleon's face perfectly.

Nice answer, fearless is a state of mind at the moment-often related to 'must do it."

Very nice, and the photo fits the piece very well. Fearless is an interesting word indeed. to rush into something without fear for ones self. But I have a feeling the fear creeps back in after the fact, but only briefly for these men. I see that in the photo too.

Agreed, but it's the crash after that adrenaline rush that can get a person thinking and fear can creep in. We can only hop the boys remain fearless, as always.
