This particular story led to some interesting research, and those of you familiar with my stories know I love to add that touch of realism to my stories by using history as the backdrop. Here I stretch things a wee bit. Hope you enjoy reading or re-reading the story. Comments are most welcome here!

Date: 2014-11-01 01:42 pm (UTC)ps. My sister is left handed. She has worked in the bar trade for the last 17 years. About ten years ago, I bought her a left-handed corkscrew from the Left-Handed Store for this particular holiday. She has taken it to every bar she's run ever since.

Date: 2014-11-01 02:32 pm (UTC)My late brother was a lefty, as are some of my cousins...oddly my mom and her 3 sisters each had only one child who was left handed, yet none of them was left handed nor was my dad or my Uncles.
I pulled a joke on my Irish teacher years ago, who was a lefty. He'd taken one of my tin whistle workshops but was having problems 'getting it.' (the man is obsessive about mastering things) He's always pulling jokes on us so I decided to get him for once. So when he was complaining about his troubles learning the instrument I asked him to let me see his tin whistle.
I told him "Well there's your problem, you have a right-handed whistle. You need to get one for lefties." People at the table knew I was pulling his leg and went along with it as there's no such thing as a right or left-handed penny whistle. I had him going for weeks. Payback, as he'd pulled some rotten (but funny jokes) on me! LOL!
