Why I Like It:  Actual NYC history is woven into this tale.  I don't live far from Parkway Village, which was indeed where many UN workers lived.  I imagine some still do.  The link takes you to AO3.

I was chuckling to myself while reading it! Being a Bronx gal, I always felt like Bklyn, Queens, and Staten Island were like going off to foreign lands! Used to joke with my pals I in the " outer boroughs" that I needed my passport to visit. And they , in turn , poked fun at the Bronx and dished it right back. Thanks for the history.

You're welcome! I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, so for me and my friends, when it came to the Bronx, the only part of the City that is actually on the American continent, we looked at you all as "mainlanders" with a completely different mindset so I know what you mean about "foreign lands!"
