A double drabble for a special day...

The agents found themselves surrounded and all they could do was continue to push forward.

The noise was deafening to the Russian, whose perfect pitch hearing was suffering at the shrill sounds emanating from the street. He stuck his fingers in his ears to lessen the effect.

“You’ve got to be kidding me tovarisch?” Napoleon berated him. “How can you not like the sound of the pipes, calling to you oh Danny Boy... the throngs of children with their faces painted green and lest I forget all the pretty Colleens. It’s St. Patrick’s Day and everyone is Irish.”

“These pipes are not calling to me. At one time they were used to send fear into the hearts of the enemy before battle, and they are also not Irish. These are Scottish War Pipes, and I am most definitely not Irish.”

“I’ll buy you a corned beef sandwich... the biggest and best one from Katz's Delicatessen on Houston Street?” Napoleon attempted to soothe the savage Kuryakin.

“I find it interesting that the best sandwich associated with the Irish is sold at a Kosher Deli.”

“Illya do you want the sandwich or not?”

“Ah sure ‘tis a great day to be Irish.”

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!

Agus Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit!

Blessings of St. Patrick to you all!

And Happy St. Patrick’s day!

Great drabble! I never understood how the Scottish War pipes took the place of the traditional Uilean pipes. And that Corned beef is really an Eastern European Jewish thing. America really is a melting pot?!!
