Story posting for the HODOWE: May Day challenge is now open here on section7mfu (and on fanfiction dot net)! Posting for this challenge will be open through Saturday, May 5th.

Please use the HODOWE and MAY DAY tags to make your stories easily findable. Also, as a courtesy, remember to post the bulk of your story under a cut.

Just to give folks a heads-up, the next HODOWE writing challenge will be for Armed Forces Day with a posting timeframe of May 13th through May 19th San Fermin with a posting timeframe of July 8th through July 14th.

Though the Tax Day/Admin Pro Day challenge (Tax Day/Admin Pro Day Challenge Guidelines) is still going on (you have through Saturday, the 21st, to post your stories for that), I wanted to post the guidelines for the next HODOWE challenge to give folks as much time as possible for writing.

CHALLENGE: Write an MFU fanfic story regarding the ideas embodied in May Day. The story doesn't have to necessarily mention or include the day by name; just embody a scenario that fits the concept behind it. Some general ideas in that regard: (1) fecundity, which doesn't just mean of the body but also of the mind and spirit; (2) conversely May Day also embodies a celebration of innocent romantic love and courtly virtues; (3) in the former Soviet Union, May Day was a militaristic holiday supposedly embodying the triumph of the working class over the nobility, but becoming more closely associated with national pride regarding Soviet world-power achievements; and (4) the labor movement, wherein the working classes gained rights in the workplace.

STATISTICAL STUFF: Minimum of 500 words with no set maximum. Must fit into the overall concepts of this community, i.e., contain no explicit adult material and reflect the 1960s series in style and content.
