This is the 'just in case you missed it' entry.  We have several things going on, chllenges that are back from vacation and continuing features for your enjoyment.

There's a poll happening, and you can vote through next Wednesday.  Use the tag poll day.

Short Affair has a prompt up, and you can use the tag short_affair to find it and read stories.

PicFic Tuesday is back.  A photo prompt and your love of Solo and Kuryakin is all it takes for a winning story from you.  Try it, you'll like it.

Archives is a feature that revisits some of our fiction that's been done for challenges on Section VII.  We've filled in a lot of blank spaces on other sites, read it here to see where they began.

Tomorrow it's Writers and Readers Choice, so find that favorite story and get ready to give us a link so we can read it too!

Have a day, folks.  My car is covered in snow and ice, how about yours?

In a long corridor that led to a grand ballroom, Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin walked silently towards an arched doorway that shone from a solid wall of windows beyond. As they approached that light they encountered a young woman dressed in a gown that seemed to float around her body; shades of pale rose was a near match for her bare arms.  Napoleon was tempted to speak to her when another woman emerged.

“Is that April?”

Both men stopped in mid step, unsure now if they had misunderstood the mission parameters.  April and Mark weren’t scheduled to be part of this mission.

Having heard the approaching footsteps, April turned to see her friends and colleagues.  She was in a gown made from silk, so that it rustled slightly as she walked towards them.  Her auburn hair was in an updo, and as the other woman turned to watch April, Illya was struck by a similarity between them.

For the rest of the story, follow this... The Trouble In The Ballroom Affair

The drabbles are the norm, and if you're so inclined please post a photo and a few comments about a favorite episode.
[livejournal.com profile] uncle_du_jour is posting highlights from Season 3, so check that out as our sister community takes up the MFU Standard for episode related fun.
You can still post PicFic stories today, as will I later on.  I got caught up in the drama of a winter storm and some of what is accompanying that on the home front, but my PicFic will be here later today.
New Year folks, let's fill it up with more stories and MFU fun!

Two years ago I posted this list as a nod to our first big challenge here on Section VII: the HODOWE Groundhog Day Challenge.   HODOWE stands for Holidays of Dubious Origins Writing Event.  We had several throughout the year, and they produced some good stories and a fair amount of fun.
We've been around for nine years now, and I'm hoping this will be a year of revived enthusiasm and creativity for all of us, and lots of stories for the MFUniverse.

It's Operation Cheer Day.
 Never heard of it?
That's because it's debuting here, today.
Every day where we can post a favorite photo or story is a way to Cheer Up.
Go ahead, send us all some cheer
(and tag it operation cheer).

Today is the first day to post in the What If? challenge.  This is the prompt:

What if...

Napoleon finds evidence that Illya is, in fact, spying for the USSR.  What will he do? What could possibly be the reason?

We also have Song Story, ABC 2020 Affair, Short Affair and A Little Drabble Do Ya.

I know this is a weird time to try and get the writing mojo going, I'm personally still on the road nearly every day with driving my cousin and his wife to dialysis (her), and now doctor visits for both of them.  My cousin has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, still waiting for the oncologist to say whether there will be surgery to remove the tumor.  I find it difficult to switch on the creative juices, and I'm sure many others are facing something in the wake of this pandemic and all of the peripheral issues surrounding it.

Let's carry on as best we can, pray for those most affected and, here in America, for peace and security to topple the chaos and violence we're seeing under the guise of progressive activity.  I can imagine Solo and Kuryakin on the job as they seek out information on what must certainly be fueled by THRUSH.

Be safe everyone, and if you can write then grab that moment and go for it.

Peace to you...

G.

Not too shabby, eh?  In a time when there isn't much going on throughout Live Journal, even our limited number of entries is getting some attention.  I hope this encourages the writers to put something up so there's ample entertainment.  Consider re-posting stories, and visiting our Archives to see what you were doing in past seasons.  Don't wait for Saturday's Writers and Readers Choice to rec a story, you can do that any day of the week.

It isn't too late to start the ABC 2020 challenge.  There is also Song Story, the weekly Short Affair and as always, A Little Drabble Do Ya on Wednesdays.

People are waiting for more, let's see what we can do about that.
