So I was able to get one of the MFU posters at our local movie theatre today.  They're not supposed to give them out before the movie premiers but after the fire drill fiasco last night when I went to see a preview showing of Jurassic World, the fire alarms went off  causing a mass evacuation of the theatre.  The movie was delayed by about an hour.

 Long story short, got to see the movie...eventually, and got a couple of free movie passes in the process.  I found out the name of the fellow who handles the posters as they had one up for the MFU movie in the lobby... Got his direct phone number.  (I was shocked at my luck)

So it seems he received only 2 posters, the one that was on display and the one he decided to give to me...guess he felt sorry for me? Dunno, but does it matter/  So now I need to go find a poster frame for this puppy.  Will hang on my wall beside my 'classic' MFU poster. (the one I use as my icon)

He's not sure if they'll be getting more in for the premier as he said he should already have them by now.

I usually don't have this sort of good fortune. Hmmmm maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket?

Nice! I've seen the trailer a few times and Armie's Russian accent is starting to grow on me. I can't wait to see this movie!

Have to say the same thing, but I'm happier now that I'm going to see it for free...free movie pass is going to come in handy as I would be mad if I pay a lot to see a movie and it sucks. Have to resign ourselves that it's just not going to be OUR MFU. It's going to be Guy Ritchie's vision of MFU, very loosely based on the snow if at all.

I mean Napoleon as a former art thief...that doesn't sit right with me. Napoleon is like the ultimate good guy. the eternal optimist etc. So taking a wait and see frame of mind.

Let's face it if the movie clicks then like Star Trek there will be classic MFU and new fanfic based on the movie. Lets just hope they still reference some of the MFU canon out there?

Yes the new bio is that Napoleon was an art thief who got blackmailed into working for the CIA....Illya is a card carrying Communist and a KGB agent. The story is Pre-UNCLE...and they're forced to work together. Yeah, it's Guy Ritchie's imagined story line and barely based on the show at all from the sound of it. Basically Napoleon and Illya to me are in 'name only'....wondering how much this isn't going to resemble MFU we know and love.

I think the only parts I previously knew were Illya's occupation and that he and Napoleon were forced to work together. I could imagine them having difficulties getting along at first, so that amused me. But yeah, definitely not digging Napoleon's backstory here.

I didn't know that about Napoleon! Hmmm. Sounds like this version of NS and IK will be a little more flawed than our guys. I'm hoping for the best.

I've changed my train of thought to be more neutral, but after seeing the latest trailer, I'm not so sure. Not liking Illya's characterization at all....hopefully when I see the movie for FREE, that won't be the best thing about it, and Hammer's IK will improve?

LOL! It's going to take me some time to save up for the frame anyway, so it won't be happening anytime soon. Regardless of it being good or bad; it'll be part of the MFU legacy, sort of like GFU is...peripheral, but part of it none the less.

Well the new MFU one is huge, and yellow, so it's doing to dwarf the original one, which I LOVE... at least they sort of color coordinate. I didn't realize I was getting the yellow one until I took it out of its container. I thought I was getting the black and white one they had showing in the lobby.
