What if the movie (you know, The Movie), doesn't beget a sequel and that announcement is observed and processed by the Hollywod powers that digest such things. What if someone decides it could be a successful TV series? I know, big stretch because it already was a successful TV series. But can it work a second time? Can it duplicate the success of, say... Hawaii Five-0? Do we have actors who can pull it off better than the movie?

Date: 2015-10-22 06:07 pm (UTC)I also think that a female Waverley would go with what the focus groups are likely to want,and I suspect a female operative needs to be in the mix as well, because of the way the world has moved on (not my choice for viewing pleasure but being realistic here) which is why Ritchie introduced Gaby to the "team" in the expectation/hope that a franchise was coming out of it.
As it happens, and quite against my expectations, I absolutely loved Gaby. I thought she was a great character.
And I'm not sure about another movie, but although it didn't burn any houses down, Ritchie may have just enough clout to say "#1 was the intro, #2 we're in the story properly."
